We offer affordable Custom Homes in The Meadows at Bentwater, in Conroe, Texas. "Custom and Choice" doesn't have to mean high price. We offer several plans from our Award Winning designer or we can create one just for you.
Communication: One of the most important aspects of the building process is communication. It helps us ensure the integrity of your new home, whether it is you, our valued customer, or the many engineers, manufacturers, contractors, and inspectors we work with.
No Surprises: You have the right to know exactly what materials and specifications will be utilized in the building of your custom home, so we urge all of our customers to thoroughly read our Standards and Specifications booklet. We also want to be very clear to our "Build on Your Lot" customers about any areas which may add costs to the construction process since every lot size and topography is different.
Flexibility: We offer you flexibility not found with large "build on your lot" companies. We actually enjoy the challenge and take pride in the one-on-one relationships between builder and homeowner that is lacking in the production home arena. You are encouraged to make changes that suit your needs and desires. By properly planning and documenting these changes, we avoid lengthy delays in the construction of your new home.
No Short Cuts: We will strive to build your home as quickly as possible, but we won’t cut corners or sacrifice quality. We take the time to ensure that your home is built just the way you want it from start to finish. Our meticulous inspection process even includes a T.R.E.C. code certified inspector for the final walk through.
What Does Affordable Quality Mean?
Affordable Quality Means structurally we won't space a framing member more than 16" apart. All of our exterior walls are 2x6 not 2x4. Our sub floors are 1 1/8 " tongue and grooved plywood (not particle board) and each section is screwed down to the floor joists. We even screw down our stair treads. Every home has structural OSB sheathing - not blue foam boards you can put your foot through. Tyvek moisture barrier is used on all exterior walls keeping moisture out but allowing vapors to escape. Each of our foundations are designed by a licensed engineer and go through a four part inspection process. We also engineer our frames for extra piece of mind. Kurk Homes exceeds the EPA based Energy Star Program with third party inspections. Our insulation package utilizes fiberglass insulation with R-19 in the walls, R-22 in sloped ceilings and attic "hot spots" and R-30 in the ceilings. Kurk Homes uses only "Low E" double paned windows, ridge vents and continuous soffit ventilation. Combine these features with our 14 S.E.E.R. air conditioning units with matching gas furnaces, and 50 gallon rapid recovery gas water heaters and you'll save hundreds of dollars per year in energy bills while building a cleaner environment for the future.
Affordable Quality Means - Peace of Mind ...
We utilize third party Code Inspectors to certify each critical juncture of construction: Foundation, Framing Structure, Plumbing/Ventilation Systems, Mechanical Operation and Final Lot Grading. Kurk Homes is one of the select builders who qualify to offer a 20 year structural warranty to their customers. Our homes have 12 gauge wiring requiring 20 amp breakers for higher amperage loads, 200 amp service, protective GFI circuits in all wet areas and smoke detectors exceeding county codes. Finally, Kurk Homes will pay for an independent inspection by a licensed T.R.E.C. inspector at the final walk through prior to move in.
